Here’s what our cloud hosts had to say about this week’s episode: 339: Just-in-Time Secrets: Because Your AI Agent Can’t Keep Its Mouth Shut
Justin Brodley
This week’s episode covers several acquisitions and AI news. Between AI disruption, geopolitical tensions, and uncertainty on the world political stage and in the workforce, this increase in acquisitions will only accelerate. AI continues to make jumps in capabilities, and this puts pressure on the hundreds of startups that popped up around foundational models trying to find niches they could dominate. Then the foundational models add the capabilities natively and suddenly the valuation crashes and acqui-hire is the only path out.
Status Gator’s analysis of us-east-1 still being the least reliable region stands out, as some of the numbers they report seem crazy to me. While these APIs may experience some downtime, they are not always customer-impacting, with several notable exceptions. But if you’re spinning up new infrastructure today, I always recommend avoiding us-east-1 unless you need something bleeding edge in the AI space.

I really wanted the Jetson’s themes title but this title was just too good.
