I couldn’t believe that Notepad.exe had a major security issue a few months ago, as I dug into the story I learned that Microsoft decided to add copilot to it, which resulted in this major bug. You can read all about the vulnerability here. https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2026-20841. I’m glad that Microsoft is pruning copilot from places it doesn’t belong. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
